How to calculate the maximum payout per bet when I bet on the negative Malay odds?
The negative Malay odds show how much you need to bet in order to win one unit and not how much you could possibly win.
For example, if you choose Malay odds -0.95, and you enter the amount of $10 on the bet slip, this amount is the potential winning and not your stake. In order to win $10, you would have to pay $9.5. Please refer to the table below:
Negative Malay odds | -0.95 |
Amount on the bet slip ( as potential winning) | $10 |
You have to pay (as stake) | $9.5 =($10*0.95) |
Max payout on this bet | $19.5 (=$10+$9.5) |
In this case, if your bet is a winning one, you will receive $19.5, which includes the potential winning and the stake. On the other hand, if the bet is a losing one, you would have to pay $9.5 as a loss on this bet.
